Gujarat Titans Showcase Strong Performance
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India] - On May 3, Gujarat Titans (GT) fast bowler Gerald Coetzee shared insights about the team's performance after their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). He emphasized the team's positive approach throughout the game.
“I believe no one plays poorly on purpose,” Coetzee remarked during the post-match press briefing.
“Today was a successful day for us, and we will continue to improve. Our intent was commendable,” he added.
The South African bowler highlighted the team's ongoing commitment to uphold high standards in their fielding during every match.
“We approach every game with the goal of excelling in the field, and today was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our skills,” he stated.
Coetzee concluded his spell with figures of 1/36 in four overs, claiming the wicket of Ishan Kishan.
In a dominant display, GT posted an impressive total of 224/6 and showcased their resilience to secure two points against SRH in Ahmedabad during the 18th season of the lucrative league.
This loss leaves the 2016 champions in ninth place on the IPL 2025 points table, having won only three out of their ten matches, accumulating six points. A defeat in any of their remaining four games could lead to their elimination from the tournament.
During the match, GT maintained their perfect record of defending targets exceeding 200 at home. Their 38-run victory over the struggling Sunrisers was propelled by an explosive start from Sudharsan (48) and Gill (76), complemented by Buttler's impressive 64 off 37 balls.
SRH's chase of 225 turned into a disaster as Gujarat's bowlers worked in unison, leading to regular wickets and pushing Hyderabad closer to elimination after suffering a 38-run defeat.
